Steve Angello is one of the world’s most successful DJs. Rapid success had seen his brand grow into lots of exciting new areas, but there was very little consistency between them. We were asked to develop a distinctive identity that would integrate his diverse interests into one consistent brand.
We selected a sophisticated modern typeface, refined a subtle colour palette and created a series of eye-catching images based on abstract interpretations of his well-known face, including a portrait by illustrator Chris Grey. ‘Size Matters’, the first album released under the new identity became a fixture in the dance charts. We also rolled the brand out across the web and events in Ibiza and Miami.
