Book Launch

2 artists brought 6 Leeds-based community groups together to take part in and curate their own art exhibition. All the communities involved were under-represented in higher education and the creative sectors, but over 7 weeks every participant contributed something meaningful and helped curate other people’s work too. We were asked to support the project with work that felt carefully crafted, but that could be produced on a very limited budget. 

We designed posters for their showcase exhibition at East Street Arts and produced a finely crafted book in 4 different colourways. Designed to be both readable and visually interesting, it used simple black print on self-coloured stock, contrasting a strong grid with typography that bled around corners and from one page to another.
