During the 7 years we worked with Republic, it was one of the UK’s leading retailers of men and women’s branded fashion. It built its business on selling its own house brands alongside prestige labels like Diesel, Bench and G-Star.
As their constant design partners, we built a close working relationship and completed a huge range of projects across everything from shop fascias to point of sale. We gave their stores a distinctive, consistent look while staying true to their raw, independent spirit. We also helped them refine and launch several of their own brands, including SoulCal. This California-inspired label went on to be a significant brand in its own right, with a concession stand in Selfridges.
The brand identity we defined used a subtle mango and charcoal palette, as well as 3 bespoke cuts of the elegant, fashion-influenced DTL Nobel typeface. Inspired by the fast-moving world of retail, we also gave their guidelines book a cover with a handy carrier bag style handle.
