Leeds Youth Opera decided to put on an innovative double bill of Carl Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’ and a world premiere performance of John Rudland’s ‘The Nightingale & The Rose’. Our brief was to promote these two productions through posters, flyers and a programme without doubling their printing costs.
Throughout the promotional materials we combined details of both productions in innovative and visually-interesting ways. Posters were printed on very thin stock with details of one production on each side. When placed on windows, this allowed details of the other production to be visible, and we used black and fluorescent inks to maximise the contrast. The programme was also printed with two covers and an unusual fold, so it could be read from either side.
