The British Council is on the ground in 6 continents and over 100 countries, working with millions of people to help connect them with the UK. This diversity makes it a real challenge to maintain a consistent brand. Their online guidelines were comprehensive, but their brand team wanted us to create a complementary introduction to the brand, so their staff could have something succinct and approachable to keep close at hand.
We produced a compact booklet entitled ‘Your ten minute guide’. With an easy to follow structure and a friendly tone of voice, it was designed to feel approachable and simple to use, providing a handy source of reference, as well as numerous signposts to more in-depth information online. It was also designed to feel like a premium item, like a personal Moleskine diary, so people would treasure it and feel it was worth holding on to.
