In 2014, the BHF decided to take their annual public meetings on the road. They wanted to open up their organisation, get people to share their opinions and make attendees feel more deeply involved in the BHF’s work. They also wanted the events to have a strong element of supporter involvement and emphasise the achievements of their life saving research teams.
We emphasised the interactive nature of the events by dubbing them ‘Ideas Labs’. We then used scientific graphics and information displays to make them look and feel like laboratories. We even produced customised white lab coats for BHF staff to wear. The events incorporated voting boxes, white boards and a twitter board to help people get involved.
